Football Season

Today I learned about football! I learned that the month of January is dedicated to playoff games and that they play those games every weekend. Mamma and Pappa have been watching a lot of football lately. I learned that mamma’s favorite professional team is the Eagles and I learned that when the Eagles are playing, no one is supervising me! My pappa is off with the National Guard today and Molly is playing with her friends. That leaves me and mamma at home and since she was watching a football game I had to find something to do to entertain myself.

I played with some toys and I chased the cat. The cat was feeling a bit feisty today and smacked me a few times with her claws so I decided to find a different game. Mamma was watching TV in the living room so I went into the sunroom and noticed a thread on the carpet that was sticking up so I pulled it a few times and….well one thing lead to another and before I knew it I had pulled the carpet off the floor and had chewed all the way down to the floor.

Mamma does not think this will be something that she will be able to easily hide from pappa….she thinks that we will both be in big trouble when he gets home. I am attaching a photo of the little carpet mishap.

Mamma explained a few more rules today while she was laying down the law:

1. I will not roll my toys behind the fridge or under the sofa or bed.

2. I must shake the rainwater out of my fur before entering the house.

3. I will not eat the cats' food, before they eat it or after they throw it up.

4. "Kitty box crunchies", although they are tasty, are not food.

5. I will not bark each time I hear a doorbell whether real or on TV.

6. I will not use "roll around in the dirt" as an option after just getting a bath.

7. Sticking my nose into someone's crotch is not an acceptable way of saying hello!

8. The sofa is not a face towel. Neither are mamma or pappa’s laps.

9. I will not sit in the middle of the living room and lick my crotch when we have company.

10. I will chew on my toys and only my toys.
